  2024-12-13

ABC super family proteins are found in all forms of life and ABC-F subfamily of proteins are involved in cellular processes such as translational control and antibiotic resistance by ribosomal protection [3], [5]. The Mtb ABC proteins that do not contain transmembrane domains have not been studied [

  2024-12-13

Along with the improvement of the cadmium transport from roots to aerial tissues, as is required for phytoremediation, over-expression of PtoHMA5 also led to the excessive accumulation of cadmium in leaves that was harmful to plant growth and physiological performance. Thus, detoxification of the he

• The AT hook motif is highly conserved in evolution

  2024-12-13

The AT-hook motif is highly conserved in evolution from bacteria to humans and is found in one or more copies in a large number of other, non-HMGA, proteins, many of which are transcription factors or are involved in chromatin remodeling [8]. For example, AT-hook peptide motifs are essential compone

• br Identification of the croaker mAR cDNA Testosterone

  2024-12-13

Identification of the croaker mAR cDNA Testosterone (T) was observed to alter steroidogenesis through a nongenomic mechanism (not blocked by the transcription inhibitor, actinomycin D) in Atlantic croaker ovarian tissues (Braun and Thomas, 2003). This action of T was mimicked by T conjugated to B

• Expression of Twist and the AR

  2024-12-13

Expression of Twist1 and the AR are increased by oxidative stress, but the change in the receptor (mRNA/protein) is lost after treatment with siRNAs that target Twist 1 (Shiota et al., 2010). Twist 1 was found to bind to E-boxes, 5′-CANNTG-3′, in the proximal promoter (−442 to +51 bp) and upstream r

  2024-12-12

To confirm a role of OCT3 in corticosterone-induced potentiation of cocaine-primed reinstatement, we examined the interaction of corticosterone and cocaine in the reinstatement of cocaine conditioned place preference (CPP) in wild type mice, and transgenic OCT3-deficient mice. These mice express a t

  2024-12-12

Human testicular peritubular reverse transcriptase inhibitors (HTPCs) are also the only human testicular cell type that can be isolated, cultured and studied in vitro (Albrecht et al., 2006, Mayerhofer, 2013). Results from recent studies indicate that their roles go beyond sperm transport and inclu

  2024-12-12

Lipotoxicity is the accumulation of excess lipids in non-adipose tissues that leads to cell dysfunction or cell death. It may play an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetes, and contributes to the rate of progression of CKD [7,8]. Emerging evidence indicates that renal lipid dysregulation is

  2024-12-12

Our findings establish a critical link between HemAC-Lm dimeric structure and cAMP synthesis that helps in explaining how globin-A domain influences AC domain. The following possible homodimeric structure of wild type full length HemAC-Lm has been proposed to explain the role of this globin-A domain

  2024-12-12

In the presence of detrimental conditions, such as inflammation, hypoxia, ischemia trauma or neoplastic milieu, the extracellular levels of adenosine increase massively, reaching micromolar range [51,52]. In these pathological contexts, adenosine accumulation stems from increased extracellular depho

Recently, several groups, including ours, have started to use the C. elegans multi-dendritic PVD neurons as a model system to dissect the molecular mechanisms of dendrite development. During larval development, PVD elaborates complex and stereotyped dendritic arbors by sequentially adding primary (1
